Willow Run
We were supposed to join Jim & Tami Burns (and
kids) at Henry Ford's Greenfield Village on Friday, but the flooding rains
in Ohio delayed our arrival by a full day. This meant that we
were only able to join our friends for dinner Friday night and breakfast
Saturday, as they had to depart for Grand Rapids.
We *could* have stayed another day and seen the
sights, and flown home on Sunday -- but a combination of "motel fatigue" and
the threat of bad weather on Sunday convinced us to head home. The Henry
Ford Museum will have to await a future flight...
On the flight home, we were stunned at the
incredible visibility around the bottom of the lake. This allowed us
to actually see the Chicago skyline from Gary, Indiana. Chicago Center
was routing airliners into Midway directly UNDER us, as we tootled along
westward -- presenting us with some interesting views of the TOP of
airliners!
