Kansas Pilots Association
On October 22, 2004, the Kansas Pilots
Association planned to fly in to spend the weekend at the inn, and to
explore Iowa City and the Amana Colonies.
As luck would have it, the day dawned with low
visibility and fog in Iowa, high winds in Kansas -- and thunderstorms en
route. Needless to say, their plans changed, and they flew in
the next day which was windy but good VFR.
Despite their shortened stay, these fine folks
still managed to see the Amanas and a good bit of Iowa City! And
the day of their departure turned out to be glorious, with absolutely
perfect fall leaf-peeping weather!
