Friday By Friday we were ready for a change of pace. It was time to attend Jim Weir and Gail Allinson's outstanding "Best of Show" forum -- always a big hit -- and to simply do some airplane watching. And, for those looking for a bit of relaxation after a long week in the sun, the Seaplane Base never fails to deliver. Later that afternoon Mary, the kids, Montblack, Jack, Steve, and I all headed down to the south end of Wittman Field (to the area known affectionately as "North Fond du Lac") in order to catch the bus to the Seaplane Base. There we spent a most enjoyable afternoon, lazily watching the float and sea planes coming and going. In the evening they served up a memorable fish fry, and we all toddled back to the campsite fat, dumb and lazy after a wonderfully relaxing day -- where we watched in horror as Montblack invited a Dutchess full of young 21-year-old CFIs over to the site for "a beer"!! Needless to say, the beer didn't last long! Here are some pix from that day:
