The Corsair Suite |
| The Chance-Vought F4U Corsair was
the best fighter plane in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
It could out-perform any Japanese fighter in all but a tight-turning
dog-fight, but it made up for this with superior speed, climb, and
fire-power. Because of the unique sound made by the unusual inverted
gull-wing in a dive, the Japanese called the Corsair "Whistling Death." |
 |
| |
| Powered by a 2,000
horsepower Pratt & Whitney Double Wasp radial engine, the Corsair carried
either six .50 caliber machine guns, or four 20 mm cannons -- providing a
devastating punch against the more lightly armored Japanese aircraft.

The Corsair combined the largest possible engine with the smallest possible
airframe, with some versions achieving 470 mph in level flight.
It was widely used in the Korean War as well, with production continuing
until 1952. |

| Our non-smoking
Corsair suite echoes those long-ago days of World War II, combining the most
value into a relatively compact package. Our smallest and least
expensive aviation theme suite, at 300 square feet it still looms large by
comparison to most hotel suites. |
| |
| With a full kitchen, you
can enjoy a home-cooked meal, or take advantage of room service and let us
