Ercoupe N94856 First Flight
On Thursday, June 26th, we returned from a
week-long family flying vacation to find that our partner Keith had finished
installing and painting the new wings for our Iowa City Flying Club's 1948
Ercoupe, N94856. The only thing hanging us up was a lack of
insurance.
Luckily, before we had departed on vacation, I
had received several quotes on insurance -- so it only took a phone call to
get things set up. Within a couple of hours, we were flying!
And fly well she does. Our little Ercoupe
looks like a million bucks, and flies like a dream -- all the while sipping
gas at less than 5 gallons per hour. Our kids will be able to afford
to fly it, and we'll have fun buzzing around "with the top down" on warm
summer evenings...
