2006 1st Day of School 2006 marked the first year that we have no children in elementary school anymore. After 9 years of walking one or both kids to school every day (our home is 1/2 mile from Lemme Elementary School), it is going to feel very strange having to DRIVE the kids to school. This was Becca's first day of Junior High School, and Joe's first as a Junior in High School. The contrast between the two -- one like a cat on a hot tin roof, the other too cool to show any emotion at all -- was remarkable. And hilarious...if they were somebody else's kids!
