2005 Fall Colors Flight
Every year we like to pick a crisp, clear autumn
day, when the sky is blue and the winds are calm, to go in search of the
most brilliant fall colors in the area. Often we head toward the
Mississippi for this annual pilgrimage, but this year we stayed in the area
just south of Iowa City.
With the severe drought this year, we were
concerned that the foliage might be muted, or that the leaves might just
drop without changing color. We needn't have worried. As
can be seen by the pictures, below, Mother Nature didn't disappoint us!
